PASSMORE EDWARDS CENTENNIAL

John Passmore Edwards (1823-1911), the Cornish born philanthropist, built more than seventy buildings nationwide, including Newlyn Art Gallery in 1895.

Running concurrent to the Hilton exhibition, the display in The Studio will highlight the many changes to the building over the past 116 years and its pivotal role in the artistic community.

Visitors are invited to contribute anecdotes and memories of the gallery and the artists who have exhibited here to an oral and written archive.

Organised in collaboration with Melissa Hardie and the West Cornwall Art Archive
