Museums

Many of the public libraries that Edwards funded also contained small museums with local collections, since dispersed.

He also responded to a request to fund a museum in West Ham, to accommodate the Essex Field Club, a natural history Society, formed in 1880 to promote the Study of the Natural History, Geology and Pre-historic Archaeology of the County of Essex and its borderlands.
