HospitalsIt was Passmore Edwards’ view that physical health was the basis of mental, industrial, and national health, and of moral and material wealth. Today we, perhaps, take the presence of our hospitals for granted, but 100 years ago they were a scarce commodity. Edwards provided eight hospitals, in London and Cornwall, and funded the enlargement of at least two other hospitals. |
